OUR MISSION: 

We seek to create and maintain a prosperous environment for business and industry, while protecting and enhancing the island’s sustainability and improving its economic viability.

The Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce has served the business community and residents of Salt Spring since we were established in 1948. We work to provide Islanders with a community where citizens can enjoy life while earning a living.

A membership in the Chamber of Commerce is your opportunity to work with and reach out to other small business owners and community members to achieve great things.  You don’t just buy a membership in the Chamber of Commerce, you buy into a cooperative community where people share their abilities with one another,  helping each other achieve goals that they cannot reach on their own.  You can also play a role by volunteering time to contribute toward making the business community on Salt Spring thrive – members helping members to succeed!

By joining the Chamber, you are also a part of the Shop Local Program encouraging members and the community to support locally owned businesses. Locally-owned businesses return about 80% of each dollar to their community. And each dollar spent at a local business will return up to five times that amount within our community through taxes, employees’ wages, and purchases of materials, supplies and services at other independent businesses. You are automatically enrolled in this program by becoming a Chamber member. All members are featured on the Shop Local Directory – support fellow Chamber members and they will support you!

Make a positive difference in your business and your community by being involved in the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce. We are members in good standing of the Canadian Chamber of Commence, the Better Business Bureau, Tourism Vancouver Island and Tourism Victoria. We are the first Chamber in Canada to be accredited by  Green Tourism Canada.
